Somatica launched in Melbourne in 2004 as a monthly club night to satisfy those craving the more underground and alternative electronic sounds on a regular basis. Quickly gaining a reputation for delivering cutting edge entertainment and top shelf production. Out-growing various Melbourne venues, the Somatica Music, Art & Culture Gathering was born. The first annual outdoor gathering took place over the Easter long weekend in April 2005 while the club nights became less frequent.

Fast forward to 2012 and over 25 club and outdoor events later, which have included album launches, national and international artist tours, re-union shows and exclusive live performances from acts such as Krumelur & Kroppsprak (ger) Texas Faggott (fin) Grouch (nz) MUTe (isr) Pixel (isr) Monster Zoku Onsomb, Nam Shub of Enki, suncontrolspecies, Sensient, Tetrameth, Shadow FX, Goosebumpz, Circuit Bent, The Mollusk, Pondscum, Hefty Output, Meat axe, Hired Goonz, Neuron Compost, Staunch, Sun In Aquarius, Sun:monx & many many more. Somatica is now synonymous with creating events that encompass multi sensory, world class music, art and entertainment for the mind and money maker.

Climaxing at it's 7th outdoor event and running over 3 nights the Somatica Music, Art & Culture Gathering proudly provided an all-encompassing T.A.Z while being environmentally and socially conscious. From permitted locations & local community support to the use of bio diesel power, composting toilets, recycled waste systems, recycled paper printing, reclaimed art and décor and more.

The outdoor gatherings ended late on the Easter Sunday night with the WTF cinema, which began in 2008 in order for the fun to continue in a way that would allow people to chill out yet stay entertained after a big weekend. What eventuated was a two hour excursion into the absurd as visual director Rich Haridy preceded to bring people undone with his collection of mind melting, psychosis inducing short films. The cinema was an immediate success and become a prominent fixture on the event program as well as the highlight of the gathering for many.

From 2009 Somatica begun dedicating $5 from every ticket to charity organisations such as wildlife victoria, orangatang outreach and the elephant nature park by way of donation and sponsorship.

The final episode of the Easter Gathering, took place over the Easter/Anzac long weekend. 22 - 25 April 2011.

A very big THANK YOU to each and every one of you that has been involved in or attended any of 23 Somatica events over the past 8 years. It's been quite the wild ride and wouldn't have happened without you!!! A very big thank you also to the Department of Sustainability and Environment, Heathcote Police, Heathcote shire council, Bendigo CFA & Ambulance Victoria for approving permits and continual support.

It's not all over here at Somatica HQ though, we're currently taking a moment to expand and move forward into some different avenues of top shelf entertainment. Stay tuned...
